My Speedy Corned Beef Guisado
September 02, 2014
I admit that there are times when I wake up late in the morning despite setting two to three alarm clocks. I'm a mom with a kid who has unpredictable sleeping pattern. It's not easy to be awake at 4:00 or 5:00 AM after retiring two to three hours earlier.
Waking up late causes a domino effect as expected which means Kuya and Papa wake up late too. I'm considered a human alarm clock here at home. I'm the Mom, period. No explanations needed. Do you agree, dear?
In a situation like this, the three of us are rushing. The two boys should not be late for school and work. Sometimes I can't prepare food ahead of time because Bunso is so demanding the whole day. I have no Yaya here to help me out!
This easy recipe has been saving me so many times already. Kids and hubby like it so no problem!
Anyway, why I say it's speedy because it has only three to four ingredients and the cooking procedure can be done within 5 minutes.
Here it is:
Ingredients
1 big can or 2 small cans Purefoods Corned Beef
1 big red or white onion, sliced thinly or into rings
pepper
salt or powdered all-in-one seasoning (optional)
Procedure
1. Heat the frying pan and put corned beef. Fry it on it's own oil until golden brown. Make sure that your flame is in high heat while preheating. Then switch to medium while frying. Stir occasionally.
2. Peel and slice the onion then put it on the pan when the corned beef is well-done. Stir fry until it's half-cooked or sweaty.
3. Put a dash of pepper and/or a pinch of salt or powdered all-in-one seasoning (optional). Stir fry a little.
4. Serve with hot steamed/garlic rice, bread, or soda crackers. Enjoy!
