What Transpired During Asia Fertility Awareness Week 2013

Fertility Awareness Week was a disease awareness initiative endorsed
by ASPIRE (the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction) in partnership
with various local Fertility Societies throughout Asia and supported by
Merck Serono. The campaign was designed to create awareness, improve
knowledge and address the problems and misconceptions surrounding
fertility in order to provide guidance to couples who wish to start a
family.
From
August 25 to 31, the platform hosted a microsite for the region wide
effort Fertility Awareness Week 2013. The weeklong event featured a
series of web congresses on the nature of infertility, barriers to
understanding the condition, and treatment options available in the
Philippines for Filipino couples seeking to conceive.
I would like to give you the details on how the it took place.
FIRST DAY- August 25, 2013 (Sunday)
TOPIC: What is Infertility?
Local fertility expert Dr. Virgilio Novero (FPOGS, FPSREI, FPSGE), St. Lukes Medical Center Global City defined exactly what infertility is and addressing the common misunderstandings associated with it.
They also explored the key contributing factors to infertility and
offer further guidance for couples who may be suffering from it.

Experts debunked the myths associated with fertility and explored common misconceptions to help break the taboo of discussing infertility. They focused particularly on the impact that age could have on infertility as well as other contributing factors, in order to help with overcoming any fertility problems.
