Fun Time at Kid's Workshop

Greenhills Shopping Center is one of the best places to shop here in Metro Manila. There you can find great bargains, specialty shops, unique finds, and lots of restaurants to dine in. Do you want to go there and do your shopping or just meet up with friends and you don't have a yaya or helper to depend on to keep the kids away from boredom? Kid's Workshop is the best place to drop them off. There they can find their own fun. The place is filled with toys, books, puzzles, and other play things. Different activities are given every now and then to suit your kids' different personalities and likes.

Last Sunday, September 20, my eldest son, Ross, and I had a chance to experience the fun and excitement at Kid's Workshop!

I was informed that Kid's Workshop was located at 2/F Shoppesville Arcade, Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City. It was so easy to find.

As we approached the venue,  Kuya and I became more excited. The posters were colorful and very inviting!

As we entered the room, we were greeted by a friendly staff, Miss Genlie! She was very accommodating. She handed me a form were the necessary information about me and my son should be filled up. There was an entry were I should write down the one who's going to fetch my son. Galing! They wouldn't surrender any child to someone that wasn't permitted by the parent.  Then she placed a name band on Kuya's left arm.

Then I got some fliers to learn more about the company's mission and vision and also a calling card for future reference.

I also saw the enticing freebies when I would decide to enroll Kuya to the Kids FUNclub.

Imagine for just Php550 per child for one year membership, it includes membership card and lots of discount coupons. You may find the details of the freebies and discounts HERE.

Happy treats and souvenirs at affordable prices were available too. On the wall, we saw the sample art works to be done during KidsART sessions. Kuya got more excited. He's into arts and crafts and he couldn't wait to try the art activities.

Before going in, we were asked to wear socks. I would love to come in to take photos. Kuya's nine so there was no need to assist him! Only children three years old and below would need adult supervision. The entrance door on the playground was locked and clients couldn't easily enter or exit without the approval of the staff. Take note, all staff members monitor their clients, not just Miss Genlie.

If parents would not join their kids inside the playroom, they could sit on the bench in the Waiting Area. Strollers could be parked there too. There was another entrance door on the side for the clients who would come in straight from the mall's premises. Fire extinguishers were placed in an accessible space in case of fire. The big clock made us updated about the time.

Cubby holes were installed strategically to park clients' baby bags and shoes. Clients were not allowed to eat inside the playground. Snacks could be eaten on mini tables and chairs located within the Waiting Area. Clean as You Go (CLAYGO) and garbage segregation were  encouraged- another important reminder for both kids and adults to care for the environment.
There was a washroom inside so there was no need for the clients to go out when nature calls.

It was filled with toys everywhere! The place was jam-packed so this kind of scene was expected.
Bookworms could choose from many children's book selections. Puzzles and blocks were there too for kids who love to build. Techie kids could play on the computer while movie lovers could watch their favorite films on the big monitor.

There was a little nook where kids could play pretend or build blocks. Monitors and game consoles for video games were situated. Plenty of books to read were placed neatly on shelves. The area was secured and padded so no need to worry for falls and bruises.
Same with the playground, it was safe for everyone. Parents shouldn't worry when they leave their kids four years old and above because five well-trained staff members would take care of them. Aside from Miss Genlie, the ladies on duty were Mses. Len, Gie, Jackie, and Gladys.

There were Little Tikes vehicles, mini horses, slides for big and small kids, and area for rock climbing.

I witnessed that the staff members were always on the area, looking after the kids despite the fact that many parents were there to assist their very young children.

More details about the playground and "Basic Rules to Play Safely" HERE.

Miss Len, who was in charge with KidsART, would call the names of kids to try the art activities. Kuya looked forward to this! Furthermore, art kits could be availed for an additional cost. See artistic kids in action HERE.

KUYA ROSS SAID THAT...

...he loved the playground and playing on the slide was his most favorite!

...he liked playing and sharing toys with younger kids and listening to stories told by Miss Jackie.

...he enjoyed the snake pasting activity facilitated by Miss Gie.

He also wanted to make the sword but I told him that it was intended for younger kids. Miss Len was there too assisting other kids.

...he had so much fun playing the parachute game.

He was jumping with joy while laughing out loud! All kids were shouting and giggling while Miss Gie was giving them instructions. They were so easy to please!

To sum it all up, our Sunday afternoon was a blast! Kuya and I were blessed to meet new friends. We had so much fun talking, creating, and playing with them. I know that the parents who were there would agree that we saw and experience all forms of developmentally appropriate games and activities.

The staff is well-trained in handling kids, very accommodating, and extremely patient which prove that kids under their care are in good hands. The program and activities suit the different multiple intelligences.

Do I need to say more?

Thank you very much, Kid's Workshop, for having us and for giving Kuya a nice surprise!

Yipee! He's already a Kids FUNclub member.  Thank you so much!

It was indeed a memorable experience! We'll  surely come back and bring Bunso with us.

    1. It was fun, Mommy Cher! Lahat ng kids ay masaya! :) Miss Gie asked me kung sumakit daw ba ang ulo ko sa daming bata. Sabi ko, hindi. By just watching them, nakawawala ng stress. They were genuinely happy that day! :)
