Yipee! I received an unexpected parcel last Friday, August 22, from SpongeBob Goody Gulp Milk Drink (made possible by Mommy Bloggers Philippines). Kuya was so excited upon opening the package! Here was the set of goodies that we got!
Who would never be delighted upon seeing SpongeBob and Patrick Starr on the packaging of a chocolate and strawberry milk drinks? Aren't they adorable? Aside from the two cutie characters printed on the tetra bricks, kids would learn some trivia and get inspired with the quote by SpongeBob! Parents would also be informed of the necessary product details like nutritional facts, ingredients, expiry date, and manufacturer's information.
It was already sleeping time so I told Kuya that we would bring them as baon to his drum practice the following day for us to share.
I was surprised because for the first time, Bunso liked a strawberry milk drink. See how he enjoyed it! He kept on shouting, "Hmm...Strawberry!" between gulps. I agreed with him that the strawberry drink, which I liked more than the chocolate variant, tasted naturally good! It didn't taste cheap nor artificial. Drinking it chilled made it taste more fantastic!
Kuya and Papa liked the chocolate milk drink more. Papa said that it tasted very light, balanced, not too strong nor bland. It was just right. There was no bitter after taste.
It wasn't impossible that we were able to finish eight tetra bricks in less than five hours!
I felt so happy that I discovered a new healthier alternative for our family's daily milk intake to sustain our calcium needs. We loved SpongeBob Goody Gulp so much! Kuya and Bunso kinda had milk taste fatigue after weaning them from bottle feeding. It was difficult for me to bring back their habit of drinking lots and lots of milk.
What I do to keep them nourished with their daily calcium needs are I alternately cook dishes with fish, eggs, leafy vegetables, brocolli, lean meat which are very rich in calcium, incorporate milk in my dishes, or serve them drinks that conceal milk like making fruit or chocolate shakes. But sometimes my kids are tired of consuming them. They are very picky eaters, sad to say.
I'm a busy mom and it's very tedious for me to think of other ways to let my kids drink milk, which is very important to aid in their bone development. Honestly, I am not a milk drinker myself and I understand their situation of being tired of it. But I don't want to set a bad example. I don't want them to be like me so I do my best to find ways to solve our milk taste fatigue.
I tried different milk products in the market like yogurt, chocolate or fruit milk drinks in powder and liquid forms but they tend not to like them due to not so nice after taste, too much sweetness, or causing stomach ache. I never thought that trying SpongeBob Goody Gulp Chocolate and Strawberry Milk Drinks would be a great alternative!
